Following a collision we had a panic phone call saying that the Insurance Company had sent a recovery vehicle to collect a damaged Honda HRV immediately and, due to it’s age and market value, it was to be taken directly to a holding yard somewhere in Manchester where it would be written off as unreparable. Our customer DID NOT want the car to be taken away where it would be completely out of their control without it having been assessed properly by the insurance company. It was stressful enough having the car severly damaged through no fault of their own let alone being told to immediately empty it and was being taken away probably to never be seen again. Taking our advice and armed with the knowledge that they did NOT have to allow this to happen (as it was after all THEIR car and not the insurance companies) they spoke to the insurers and it was agreed that the car could indeed be taken directly to a garage of their choice and the appointed recovery company brought it straight to Penketh Autobody,Penketh Warrington. The customer still received an immediate hire car through their insurance and was relieved that the car was in safe hands awaiting insurance assessment. With the vehicle on our premises we were able to immediately inform the insurers of the extent of the damage and repairs needed and with us present during the actual insurance assessment the insurers did agree to the vehicle being repaired rather than simply written off ..... had they not the customer was only going to receive £1500 which was far less than the car was worth considering it’s very low mileage and overall general condition despite it’s age. Here at Penketh Autobody we deal with the majority of Insurance Companies every day so things like this are just a normal part of our day but to you, the customer, it is something that can prove to be a very stressful and daunting time indeed which is why we we are always on hand to offer advice,help or act on your behalf if you would like us too regardless of whether you chose us to do your repairs or not.
